We start the New Year with an almost unique Victorian mahogany gentlemans desk. Constructed around 1890, probably in the workshops of Maple & Co., for the ” London & South Western Railway Company” (1838 -1922) for use in its London head office. A large 5ft x 3ft desk, 30ins high & with a kneehole size of 25ins x 27ins., one piece constuction with seven large drawers (two double file size) at the front with two large file cupboards at the back. Fully restored in dark figured mahogany, re french polished & with a newly fitted gilt tooled black leather writing surface to match the original. Brass handles. All locks & hinges by ‘Hobbs’ and all stamped “L & S.W.R.” This very rare & fine antique desk is now in showroom condition and is offered at 2,550.00 euro’s delivered in Ireland.
