We have selected a stunning Victorian mahogany bankers ‘ Dickens’ desk for this months ‘ Desk of the month. Circa 1870.

Constructed in three sections for easy moving. Eight deep drawers (three to each pedestal). The top section with two large drawers either side of a central slope opening to reveal a large storage section with small drawers & pigeon holes.  The large gallery having two smaller good size drawers.

The original tooled leather writing surfaces & all the brass handles & castors are in good clean condition.  The back of the desk also being french polished to enable the desk to stand in a room center if required.    The size of the desk being 54 inches x 23 inches deep x 40 inches high ( floor to top of the gallery).   In really very good condition this desk would be perfect for a home office or in a small hotel.   Our stock no. is 1166.     The price delivered within the Irish Republic being 1,350.00 euro.    We can arrange worldwide crating & delivery – please email us for a quotation

Our featured antique desk for this month is a very high quality late Georgian double sided four drawer library table/desk.   George IV period circa 1830.

In stunning dark figured mahogany, true partner type with four cock beaded drawers (two each side) & raised on castors this desk is presented in showroom condition.   Fitted with a new, gilt tooled, burgandy  hide leather writing surface.  Its size of only 47ins x 33ins making it suitable for almost any room or setting.   Price 1,580 euros delivered in Ireland.   It would be ideal for an office reception area or hotel.

Our featured desk for this month is a genuine 18th Cent. figured mahogany Bachelors Desk. George 111 period. English circa 1770.

The moulded top with a fully fitted pull-out secretaire drawer.   Below is a concealed drawer above an unusual mirror fronted cupboard with shelf.  Flanking three oak lined drawers each side and all raised on bracket feet.   Fully restored polished  & offered in top showroom condition.

Four feet x twenty five inches x thirty one inches high, the most popular desk size for a home or small office. Three section Pedestal type for ease of moving & with nine deep drawers (seven locking with keys) and original brass handles. Originally constructed circa 1895 this desk has been fully refurbished & re-polished all round to the highest standard and is offered in full showroom condition. The writing surface has been fitted with a new Olive Green hide leather, tooled & gilded to match the original. JANUARY DESK OF THE MONTH

We start the New Year with an almost unique Victorian mahogany gentlemans desk. Constructed around 1890, probably in the workshops of Maple & Co., for the ” London & South Western Railway Company” (1838 -1922) for use in its London head office. A large 5ft x 3ft desk, 30ins high & with a kneehole size of 25ins x 27ins., one piece constuction with seven large drawers (two double file size) at the front with two large file cupboards at the back. Fully restored in dark figured mahogany, re french polished & with a newly fitted gilt tooled black leather writing surface to match the original. Brass handles. All locks & hinges by ‘Hobbs’ and all stamped “L & S.W.R.” This very rare & fine antique desk is now in showroom condition and is offered at 2,550.00 euro’s delivered in Ireland. DESK OF THE MONTH – November 2011

Novembers ‘desk of the month’ is perhaps the perfect small antique desk for the home office. In solid highly figured mahogany & raised on bun feet, this desk was made around 1850 in the early years of the Victorian period. One piece Kneehole type, it has a huge amount of storage space within its small size of 44ins wide x 21ins deep x 30ins high. Nine good size drawers & a file cupboard with a shelf under the kneehole. The top has a newly fitted gilt tooled red burgandy hide leather writing surface to match the original.
